· New Writing, Fringe Theatre, Contemporary
A one woman show telling the comic story of the encounter between Cecilia, a modern migrant, and London, a contemporary El Dorado craved by generations of fledgling Europeans.
Overview
Arriving in the UK nine years ago, a suitcase full of hopes, dreams and bags of pasta (strictly Italian) Cecilia’s mission begins: becoming British whilst remaining deeply Italian. An exciting life abroad awaits, thrilling adventures, a successful career and an urban vibrant lifestyle… Kind of.
Numerous dubious jobs and weird encounters later, Cecilia finds herself alone amongst the chaos of multi-ethnic and glamorous London whilst navigating the ever present threat of Brexit. Suddenly making her desires a reality becomes a titanic endeavour as the European dream slowly drifts away.
