Inspired by true-life experience of dementia, ‘Peggy and Bill’ is a love story of marriage thrown into a tailspin of chaos and confusion. Using original music to bring Peggy’s perspective to life, the play glides between the turmoil of reality and her vivid parallel world. For Bill, the challenge is to face the end of the absolute certainties that have always kept his world together. Their son Roger struggles to support his parents while balancing his career and family. Will they hang on to the bond that has held them together for half a century? Amid life’s funny, moving and painful moments, love ebbs and flows. Can it survive? Jane Black’s play premieres at the White Bear August Festival with original music by Helen Moore and Katie Kingshill.
