About Just Us Dance presents

Just Us Dance Theatre presents, The Let’s Shine Mentorship programme with a pertinent message communicated through an intense physicality that questions your cultural stance and presumptions. Founded in 2007 by East London artists Joseph Toonga, Ricardo Da Silva and Rudeen February who shared a passion for Hip-Hop dance, physical theatre, contemporary Dance and Spoken Word. They were fascinated with the rawness, compactness and precision that Hip-Hop provides and how they can fuse it with the shaping and structure more commonly used in contemporary choreography. The aim of Just Us Dance Theatre is to inspire, nurture and support artists and provide the conditions for creation and collaboration. Through Just Us Dance Theatre, Joseph has established two mentoring programmes, Lets Shine Mentorship and New&Notable to support and provide the tools and opportunities for young emerging Hip-Hop dance theatre artists to achieve their goals.
