Once upon a time in Padua there were two sisters. Katherina was a “shrew” with an appalling temper. Bianca was a sweet, patient model of female behaviour. All the men of Padua rightly competed and contrived for the love of sweet Bianca, but only the fearless Petruchio would take on taming the Shrew. Both sisters found true love and lived happily ever after.
Or, did it really happen like that? Was money a motivator? Was power, or control? And what really makes someone a “shrew”?
Prepared using the cue script technique used in Shakespeare’s own theatres, the cast will rehearse their own lines and cues, but not rehearse together before the performance. The play will appear on the stage, created by the cast for the audience.
Moment to moment, the story will be told.
