VIVIAN CHINASA EZUGHA Performing DNA // 7.30pm Carrot. Ginger. Apple. Beetroot. Turmeric. Kale. Spinach. Butternut squash. Fennel. Grapefruit. Orange. Lemon. Cucumber. Blueberry. Raspberry. Pineapple. Water. Coriander. I have to cleanse, I have to run, I have to medicate, I have to get through this day. Winner of the NAE Open Main Prize 2018, the “truly stunning” (Exeunt) Vivian Chinasa Ezugha explores mental health, food and sustaining marginalised bodies. Covered in turmeric, she stabs right into the heart of sickness to cleanse herself. * * * MARIKISCRYCRYCRY He’s Dead // 9pm International choreographer, dancer and Vogue-featured artist Marikiscrycrycry returns to NOW after a sell-out show last year to ask the (unanswerable) question: Was Tupac Depressed? Through dark fantasy choreography, text, live action and sound, He’s Dead sheds tears for the things that we cannot unearth. A show that moves beyond hope to dig deep into melancholia, vulnerability and the spaces we’re allowed to be sad. Age Recommendation: 13+
