Lite Metle / Fire Bird

Part of NOW Festival 2020

Lite Metle // 7.30pm

Total Theatre & The Place Award for Dance 2019 nominee Ultimate Dancer uses uncanny sounds, songs and recycled dances to skew reality in mystical directions, creating new worlds.

In these other worlds a computer can become an opera singer, can become Greta Thunberg, can become dogs biting sour trees, can become the change, can become a forever winter solstice, can become bitcoins, can become vantablack, can become romance, can go up in flames, can become a clotted blood frog, can be eaten alive and can be a complete state of mind.

Fire Bird // 9pm

Firefighting is trying to deal with the thing right in front of you.

You can’t plan ahead.
You’re trying to do the least damage.
You’re fighting to stay alive.
You’re fighting to keep going.
You’re fighting to make it through the day.

Critics Circle National Dance Award for Outstanding Performance Julie Cunningham has made a show about being trapped with the things you want to run away from.
