“Sparky and insightful debut play from Robbie Curran about two cousins growing up, one with Asperger’s and one without. But as they grow into manhood which one needs looking after?”
Part of VAULT Festival 2019
Overview
Thomas has Asperger’s. David doesn’t. As they struggle through the ups and downs of youth and into manhood, "Thomas" explores the experience of living with this still often misunderstood condition, and the challenges it poses both in life’s milestones and in the everyday. Companionship, self-acceptance, and kindness in times of pain are at the heart of this tender story of two cousins fighting to become the men they think they should be.
Critic reviews
Thomas is a well refined debut play with a cast that doesn’t miss a beat. Above all it is a play with a huge heart, and tells a story universal to everyone… even the “normal” ones
