Show ended
The second show at the new Battersea Power Station theatre is the UK premiere of the 2006 Broadway musical version of Nick Hornby’s novel. Rob, a man whose girlfriend has left him, is in a crisis so he rearranges his record collection. The show played less than 40 performances in New York and was not a success, but this version comes with the story being relocated back to its original setting in London. Hornby’s book, described as a charmer in its day, has remained popular for more than 20 years and this might just give the Turbine the boost it needs to really establish itself as a venue for regular theatre goers.
Rob is the thirty-something owner of a London record shop who’s mastered the art of finding rare vinyl and losing girlfriends. Laura just dumped him, and Rob is totally moving on. Hopefully. Well, there’s a chance it could still work out! Could Laura actually be “the one?” Might this turn out to be one of the Top 5 Most Romantic Comebacks Ever?!
