This is an extraordinary piece of participatory work from Fevered Sleep which I caught in Brighton in 2016. It had a brief run at The Place in 2017 and now it’s back, with a new cast of trained male dancers and five untrained young girls. This is an exquisite, often exuberant and frequently tender show; and one which celebrates adults and children playing together and questions the assumption that somehow the contact between grown men and young girls must always be seen as suspect.
At times playful, at times thought-provoking, Men & Girls Dance celebrates the rights of adults and children to be together, to play together and to dance together. It’s a joyful celebration of tenderness, empathy, and love. Fevered Sleep has an international reputation for making exquisitely crafted and surprising performances that invite people to view the world in different ways. Age Recommendation: 12+
