When you feel you belong nowhere. When no space is your space.
When the rules of how to belong were written by someone else.
Unbelonger, devised and directed by Erika Eva, explores discrimination through inventive physical language, object puppetry, handheld lights and a touch of humour. Live music is designed and played by Ekata's composer in residence, Xavier Velastín.
Ekata Theatre's physical ensemble piece, Unbelonger, returns to Voila! Europe Festival. Last year at Voila! Unbelonger had a work-in-progress staging at Applecart Arts, and was invited back this year to The Cockpit.
In a time of man-made borders, mass migrations and displacements, the performance is a timely piece
