About Stingray

Stingray follows the life of Cornish fish seller, Aphia. When her lover leaves her again and her mother’s party ends in disaster, Aphia must sink or swim! Stingrays undulate throughout this unmissable solo show from writer-comedienne-clown, Ella Evans. This solo show is the first play from comedienne and writer, Ella Evans. Set in Cornwall, the show follows the life of Aphia Cory the fish seller, who is seeking her voice and freedom. When her lover Ciara leaves (a mysterious figment of the sea) Aphia turns up late to her mother’s 60th birthday party, an event which ends in disaster. The show draws on clowning, audience interaction, improvisation and story telling and vivid characterisations to bring the tale to life and balances a poetic tendency with wit and humour.
