Perpetual

Perpetual

A show about the human need to go on

Overview

Lazarus, resurrected by the hand of Jesus, has wandered the world for millennia.
Unable to die he returns to his ancient tomb to finally rest.
While he slumbers a disturbed flower girl – descendant of Ophelia, tends to him.
Somewhere in the shadows a widow dances, caught in a memory. A man crawling with illness arrives, afraid to die.
Lazarus awakens.
So begins the ritual.

'PERPETUAL' is a devised show with an emphasis placed on stark visual imagery. The show investigates the idea of perpetual motion: A theoretical motion that once started, continues indefinitely. We found this idea, this theoretical motion, to be reflected in the intrinsic human 'need to go on'.
