About All The Shit I Can’t Say To My Dad + Blue Beneath My Skin

A festival of world premiere theatre shows by four, new, exciting Black writers with an accompanying visual art exhibition curated by Sophia Tassew. THIS IS BLACK aims to support, encourage and celebrate Black artists, and to provide a supportive fringe-like experience that existing fringe platforms do not always successfully provide to Black artists. DJ til late every Friday and Saturday. ALL THE SHIT I CAN'T SAY TO MY DAD BY ABRAHAM ADEYEMI directed by Jade Lewis (produced by Creative Blue Balls) "And when you need to heal you have to... Return to that place of pain. It's the same place you find healing." AK's back at his mum's to write his debut album and decides it's time to be honest, even if the truth hurts. He finally says twenty-seven years of things left unsaid but is it too late? BLUE BENEATH MY SKIN BY MACADIE AMOROSO directed by Janet Etuk (produced by Sculptress Theatre Company) “Clothes allow me to choose how people see me, Clothes can speak louder than my skin…” Through the eyes of a 17-year-old mixed race girl, Blue Beneath My Skin explores the nuances of identity and ethnicity, which reveals to us how self-perception and the perceptions put upon us can push us onto a destructive path.
