Young Afghan refugee Saeed desperately wants to reconnect with his roots and find his long-lost sister. He leaves his family in London and returns to Kabul where he is soon caught up in the paranoia, suspicion and violence of contemporary Afghanistan and must face up to the realities of his changed world. This moving and thought-provoking play deals with a major issue from an unusual perspective, reversing the usual refugee story clichés to let us share the hopes, fears and aspirations of a refugee as he searches for a place that feels like home. It asks where and what is ‘home’? Is it just the place where you live now or is it the place you came from? To be called ‘home’ must a place have a connection to family and roots?
