Conceived and directed by Abdul Shayek and written by Sudha Bhuchar, Final Farewell explores how we say a proper goodbye to those lost during 2020 or due to COVID-19. The people who were in our churches, mosques and temples who didn’t get the goodbye they deserved. The nurses and doctors no longer with us. The people of our community, no longer standing. Let us walk in the footsteps of our friends and neighbours, around our Wandsworth home. Together we will celebrate their extraordinary lives and listen to their stories, before meeting back at Tara Theatre to bid them a final farewell. Final Farewell is an outdoor audio walking tour beginning and ending at Tara Theatre. A final event takes place at Tara Theatre at the end of the walk. The soundscape and map can be accessed on your phone or tablet. Alternatively, maps and a limited number of listening devices are available to be reserved when booking your ticket. The event at Tara Theatre is open until 10pm for evening performances and until 5pm for matinee performances. This is a self-led walk using a map and audio. We ask you to be aware of your surroundings at all times. The route involves crossing roads and includes footpaths that are shared with cyclists and other pedestrians. The route is suitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids and pushchairs. If you require further details of the route in advance email [email protected] Age Recommendation: 11+
