A terrific show from the much loved, seemingly chaotic duo. This time they’re invited to Malta to make a piece for Valetta European City of Culture. They head straight for The Pub, which is crowded with English ex-pats, but along the way they discover a darker side to Malta, including the refugees in detention centres and the adverts offering Maltese and therefore EU citizenship to those with enough cash. When anti-corruption journalist Daphne Carvana Galicia drew attention to this she got murdered for her pains. Sh!t Theatre consider the responsibilities of art, complicity and whether there is ever such a thing as a free holiday. Brilliant.
Sh!t Theatre have built a cult-following around their unique brand of hilarious, seemingly-chaotic (but v clever) satirical theatre. In their latest show, which was very popular at Edinburgh this summer, they take the piss out of wanky ex-pat culture and dig deeper to explore the dark dealings and sinister inequality that separates rich 'Expats' from poor 'migrants'.
Lads on tour and ‘the rising stars of performance art’ (Telegraph) Sh!t Theatre went to drink rum with Brits abroad but found mystery and murder in the fight to be European. Here it is, another excuse for the multi-award winning Sh!t Theatre to get drunk on stage. Content warning: distressing themes/images.
