Set on a South Pacific Island during World War II, this compelling love story is brought to life with an exceptional cast of more than thirty and a full orchestra. South Pacific shows off one of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most enduring and unforgettable scores, featuring songs such as ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, ‘I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair’, and ‘Bali Ha’l’. This iconic new five-star production directed by Chichester Festival Theatre’s Artistic Director Daniel Evans is set to be a hot-selling sensation!

South Pacific is directed by Daniel Evans. Its set and costume design is being taken charge by Peter McKintosh, with choreography and movement direction by Ann Yee. Nigel Lilley is the musical supervisor, Cat Beveridge is the musical director and new orchestration is by David Cullen, together with original Broadway orchestration by Robert Russell Bennett. Lighting design is by Howard Harrison, sound design by Paul Groothuis, video design by Gillian Tan, additional arrangements and Happy Talk orchestration is by Theo Jamieson. Charlotte Sutton CDG is the casting director and Verity Naughton is the additional children’s casting director.
Cast of South Pacific
Starring Julian Ovenden and Gina Beck who will portray Emile de Becque and Ensign Nellie Forbush respectively. Julian Ovenden is notable for playing Charles Blake in ITV’s Downton Abbey. He is an international recording artist and a West End and Broadway Star. His former West End credits include All About Eve, Marguerite, The Treatment, and My Night With Reg. Gina Beck has played some of the most remarkable roles in the West End including Miss Honey in Matilda the Musical, Glinda in Wicked, Christine Daee in The Phantom of the Opera, and Cosette in Les Misérables.
