Yellowman Tickets
Diane Page returns to direct following her acclaimed revival of Athol Fugard’s Statements After An Arrest Under the Immorality Act as winner of the JMK Award
Overview
Alma and Gene have grown up together. She dreams of a life beyond the confines of their small town. But when their friendship develops into something more serious, Gene’s fate becomes tragically intertwined with hers and they can’t escape the racial tensions of the Deep South in the 1960s.
Twenty years after it premiered and received a Pulitzer Prize nomination, Dael Orlandersmith’s Yellowman is a moving and deeply pertinent play for now.
