Thebes is a cursed city. The leaders assure the people of the city they know what has to be done and relentlessly push their agendas whatever the cost. But are they tackling the real problems, or should they look a little closer to home? Returning to the New Wimbledon Theatre Studio following their sold-out run of Twelfth Night in November, Carlton Theatre Group presents Caroline Reader's The Oedipus Plays. This adaptation brings together all three parts of the Theban plays: Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone in a fast-moving two act play. For those new to the plays it serves as a great introduction, for the more experienced it offers a fresh and exciting new take on the famous legend of Oedipus.
