Critic reviews

Hattie Morahan is a vivid, intense presence as Lady Torrance that makes this play as spellbinding as it is unquestionably strange

London Theatre

Fascinating Hattie Morahan helps oddball Williams play exert grip

Evening Standard

Hattie Morahan magically finds a combination of real resilience and rising desperation; her Lady is very direct and straight-forward, a woman used to damping down emotion and getting on with things

Hattie Morahan gives a rich, layered performance in an intriguing but flawed production of Tennessee Williams' rarely performed play

The Stage

It is an evening in which the power of the acting overcomes the willed poeticism of Williams’s writing

The Guardian

A reminder of how much we owe Tennessee Williams

The Telegraph

It's almost an exercise in drama that toys with reality but fails to be entirely convincing

Broadway World

Orpheus Descending is a fantastically captivating piece in which the modern world is easily recognisable
