Ollie has come to Manchester to look for her missing twin sister. There, she finds a man driving the ring road and eating chicken nuggets who tells her about Pomona – an abandoned concrete hole in the centre of the city. Somehow, everyone and everything seem to circle around this place. What dark secrets are hiding in its depths? Or might it be better to leave that question unanswered? Alistair McDowall’s disturbing, disorientating play blends elements of thriller, horror and role-playing-games into a brilliantly written story that explores what happens when things are allowed to slip through the cracks. Pomona premiered at The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 2014 and has also been performed at the Orange Tree Theatre (2014) and the National Theatre (2015). KDC is an amateur group that has been kicking around London for the last 80 years, and is very happy to be returning to the Lion & Unicorn Theatre.
