About Classified

In today’s world, Leanne, an impoverished single parent, is faced with a terrible choice if she wants to give her new baby a better chance. The outcome for both of them remains uncertain, until decided by the audience on the night of performance. Sixty years from now, an unnamed couple contend with the brutal outcome of a rigidly stratified society; while Sarah, in the final play, is driven towards making her own drastic protest against the dystopian world in which she lives. Inspired by real-life situations of social exclusion and inequality, CLASSIFIED imagines what might happen if present class divisions are taken to the extreme. It presents a hard-hitting view of many of the issues facing society today, including inequality and deprivation, and asks whether extreme responses to injustice can ever be acceptable. In the current climate of political upheaval and uncertainty, CLASSIFIED has never been more relevant
