About Playmill: Amphibian - Staged Reading

Amphibian (adj) living both in water and on land. From the Ancient Greek ἀμφίβιος (amphíbios), meaning "both kinds of life" Put your hands over your ears. Take a deep breath. Can you hear that? The babble of your gut. The garbled pulsing of your heart. Breathe. In the very swamp of you, something is growing. Something made out of your body, and yet not quite your own. Vida Adamczewski’s debut play viscerally explores the strange negotiations of a woman and her body as they shudder through pregnancy, girlhood, and growing up. Developed with, and directed by John Livesey. Brought to you by KLAXON Productions.
