Young couple Tom and Sarah are definitely not 'squirrel people'.

Overview

But when they move into their first home in the suburbs, they soon find that the house is also home to an unwelcome critter in the attic. In 'Infestation', the first play of 'The Squirrel Plays', they must decide: to exterminate or not exterminate?

In 'Compensation', it is revealed that the squirrels are a neighborhood issue. It falls on the members of the community to make yet another difficult decision: who should pay for pest control, individuals or society?

Mia McCullough is a Chicago-based playwright whose works have been featured at theatres around the United States. 'The Squirrel Plays', comprised of the two companion plays 'Infestation' and 'Compensation', have received staged readings around the US, most recently at Chicago Dramatists. By addressing the pressing issue of reproductive rights with both emotional truth and absurdist humour, Mia McCullough's dark comedy sheds new light on timely concerns.
