Ben, I don’t want a child right now. Actually screw that, I can’t have a child right now...
Overview
Does anyone really belong to us? Do our friends, our lovers, our children? "Mine" by Georgia Taylforth, explores three couples route into pregnancy, and questions whether they have a right to claim ownership on that child and indeed each other.
"It’s safe to say, I went to Drama School later than some do. By the time graduation came around, my Facebook timeline was a delightful mixture of tinder scandals and engagement/pregnancy announcements. Whilst friend’s from secondary school were planning their second child, I was planning my weekly food shop. I’ve never felt so much in limbo. It got me thinking about when the perfect time to “settle down” was. I’m still not sure I know the answer. I do, however, know that writing this play has made me realise that it’s almost impossible to plan out your whole life. I’ve decided to take every moment as it comes." - Georgia Taylforth, Author of Mine
