Sound artist Sam Enthoven and rising storytellers Laura Sampson and Laurence Ashcroft guide us through the ecstasies and debaucheries of Dionysus / Bacchus. Through the interaction of live sound and spoken word we explore the wild and wondrous stories of how this chaotic god plays with mortal people. Sounds of the living city will combine with the conjuring powers of the tellers to invoke ships to sprout branches, pirates to become dolphins and ecstatic crowds to chase down the scent of blood. Dionysus / Bacchus. Have you met them? Do you want to? Laurence Ashcroft (MA, RCSSD) is a Brighton-based storyteller, classicist and dramaturg with a passion for bringing ancient stories to life. Sam Enthoven is a musician, sound artist and author, currently exploring places where stories meet sound. Laura Sampson is a storyteller and vocalist, whose work often asks how Others might see Us.
