Spider. Because you’re sneaky. Weaving a web of deceit and lies. Tying us all up in knots.
When ex-snooker champion and ex-drinker Terry " the Wanderer" Hands instructs his 8-yr-old son Jason in the art of the game he feels he invented, he has unwittingly unleashed a more cynical breed of player. For " the King of the Green Baize" , snooker is a beautiful drama which got blokes like him from going down the pit; for Jason it is a lucrative gap year diversion.
Spider is a play about a toxic father/son relationship; jealousy; grouse whiskey and Tupperware, all set around the shining Steel City of Sheffield.
