Overview
Corinthian King Sisyphus is tired of the holy powers-that-be controlling his humdrum and repetitive life. The divine nymph Merope is just as tired of being treated like property by the entitled and chauvinist Greek Gods. They decide to team up and fight back, eventually earning the eternal punishments that will make them icons of rebellion for millennia to come. This brand new musical retelling is written and directed by Ian Bowkett (The Sam Neill Experience) and these Canal Café Theatre performances mark its world debut.
Age Recommendation: 15+
Contains strong language and references to Bronze Age misogyny.
Critic reviews
A little more care and attention to presentation would reap dividends for a musical which deserves a longer life
