· New Writing, Fringe Theatre, Contemporary
Over the course of an unusual evening, Bridget and Charlie accidentally stumble into an unfiltered interrogation of what it means to be a 21st century woman, and they just cannot seem to see eye-to-eye.
Overview
Competitiveness between women is widely accepted as a common trait, but is rarely confronted truthfully; Women Like You challenges this assumption through comedy, and invites the audience on an honest and amusing journey through the judgments and misjudgments of two women.
After three years of working with young women in Devon, Lucy Hirst and Katherine Stevens set out to create a show which encourages the airing of the unspoken and overlooked concerns which often affect female relationships. Women Like You is a work-in-progress. With your feedback, Flip The Bird aims to build the show into a touring production and educational resource, challenging society’s expectations of women by placing them at the centre of confrontational discourse.
