After the worst sectioning of our life, we were in a homeless hostel where a ‘support worker’ says “what dya need books for yr homeless?”. This show is our revenge. Thirteen years of reading, graduating from the open university in 2016. Our highly visual performance is all about asking questions, regaining voice, & ‘rewriting the future.’ Help us kick the bucket, learn how red tape saves lives, ask is the money happy?, turn estate-agent plastic into a wee home, and light that home with a book. There’s even crime-scene tape for all. Help us tell good news stories.
This performance explains its about how poverty and trauma can lead to mental distress. It explores homelessness, life ‘undersection’ (psychiatric prison), crime, and state sanctioned violence (historic & current).
