Girl meets boy. Boy meets girl. Girl gets pregnant (a bit sooner than expected!). Artistic Rebellion’s debut show challenges the taboos, expectations, and gender roles surrounding pregnancy and the prospect of parenting. Travelling from ancient creation myths to the struggles of everyday modern living, we inspect the morning sickness, the baby apps and the never-ending narratives of how things are supposed to be. Fiercely honest, inventive and playful, Made From Love is a partly autobiographical, devised piece of theatre that explores the eternal relationship between human will and the unruly laws of nature. Weaving interactive technology with live art forms, Artistic Rebellion wants to talk to you about the fears and questions surrounding the biological, social and emotional aspects of pregnancy. In relation to the show, Artistic Rebellion will be offering online resources for anyone dealing with fertility and parenting-related issues.
