Based on writer/performer Carys Wright’s own experiences, How To Catch A Bear is a redemptive, funny and mythical journey through trauma to healing.
Using performance, comedy, music and her drawings, Carys takes her audience on a quest to reclaim her voice.
“When I was fifteen something happened to me that I blocked out for a long time. But we’re not here to talk about that in detail. I’ve already done that a lot and feel a lot better about it. Yay!
I can do this show now because I’ve worked very hard to get better. I’ve done most of the crying so don’t worry. You’re ok, I’m ok, we’re ok….”
How To Catch A Bear was first developed when Carys was part of Clean Break’s young artist development programme, and has been supported by Clean Break and Clapham Omnibus.
“We’re going to go on this journey together, and we’re going to come out again on the other side.
Are you ready?
