An explosive musical retelling of the scandal that rocked the Victorian era, and the two hellraisers at the centre of it all.
Overview
Trial of the century. Society outraged. Men dressed as ladies. You can get away with anything these days. These days being 1870.
This work-in-progress performance brings together Dylan Townley (‘towering, droll and self-effacing’ – The Times, for How to Win Against History) and Sam Plumb (‘stunning’ – Steve Waters, playwright) with acclaimed director Alex Swift (How to Win Against History, Mess).
True crime never looked queerer.
Critic reviews
That their tale is billed as 'shocking', and that it needs to be remarked in this day and age, shows both how far we've come, and what a long way we've still to go
