Fallen Fruit foregrounds a unique migrant voice born in communist Bulgaria.
Overview
In Fallen Fruit, as the Berlin Wall splits open in 1989, a girl looks forward to life beyond communism, a couple unravels, and 80s TV permeates everything. In 2019, Britain leaves the EU while Europe celebrates 30 years since the end of the Cold War.
A story of love, breaking free and Europe, from multi-award-winning Two Destination Language.
Critic reviews
Fallen Fruit has rich, rich ground to explore but instead of gathering force and building, it cycles through narratives that don’t always meet each other (Review from Edinburgh Festival)
