Two nights only for the remarkable Lucy Hutson before she sets off on tour early next year. It’s a very personal piece of work and one that she has been making and remaking over the last 10 years, reflecting the way that her identity has evolved over that time. It is a show that uses film and performance to explore what it feels like not to fit into societal gender norms and how to feel comfortable in otherness. Much has changed in how we talk about gender identity since Hutson first started making this show and it reflects that change and how she negotiates it. Bound is a show about what holds us back, how far we have come and where you might go.
About BOUND
BOUND is a lifelong project, a live documenting of Lucy’s development. It’s part-live performance & part-film installation. BOUND is constantly changing & developing in both content & form as Lucy’s gender identity changes & develops. This will be the first showing of the newly developed version. BOUND is a show about the slippery nature of identities, the ones you give yourself, the ones forced onto you and the ones that were once strong and now you are just clinging on to. More specifically it’s a show about breasts, gender and using urinals. But mostly it is about baring all and coming clean. Age Recommendation: 18+
