Can one pill really change everything? What does it feel to slowly become mentally unwell? What does reality and normality feel like? Does anyone really know who they really are? Stemming from personal experiences, Dosage is an autobiographical two-hander, one female performer, one female sound designer, exploring the effect that the contraceptive pill can have on mental health. It is a distinctive inquisition into the mind and how normal life can be warped by taking just one pill. Using sound design, live film, spoken word, games with the audience and marmite toast, Dosage explores the effects of the contraceptive pill, what an alternate reality and mental health feels like, how to keep calm and carry on and what ‘survival’ and ‘recovery’ really looks like for someone once they’ve been through trauma. This performance is not just a stand-alone theatrical piece, it is an act for social change; to start having discussions and asking questions, to understand that the decision to take the pill is not as easy as it may first seem. Featured in Calm Down, Dear: three weeks of innovative feminist theatre, and in partnership with UCL Culture. Please note, this show takes place at Bloomsbury Theatre, however, please continue to book through CPT’s website. Age Recommendation: 14+
