Songs Of Lear
Song of the Goat Theatre create exciting, definition-blurring contemporary performance from a starting point of ancient text, music, dance and song.
Overview
Songs of Lear brings to life the subtle energies and rhythms that govern Shakespeare’s tragedy. Using key scenes from King Lear, the performance weaves a story out of gestures, words and music. Each song is a starting point for another ‘dramatic poem’ where the music becomes characters, relationships and events.
Critic reviews
Songs of Lear seems to have already passed into legend even though it’s only a work in progress.
