Part of The Festival of Rest & Resistance

Overview

A new work in progress sharing by Raquel Meseguer, as part of The Festival of Rest & Resistance.

I have an invisible disability, and that means I need to lie down (a lot). I lie down on trains, on benches, in galleries. Sometimes I get kick back, and sometimes I get moved on.

I'm not the only one.

Telling 30 real life stories about people's attempts to rest in public, the piece weaves text and movement, humour, song and loss.

'Welcome to Rest Room: to a space and to lives with that run counter-culture.'
