“Gecko’s take on the Arab-Israeli conflict from 2008 – it articulates little but expresses a lot.”
Overview
We have seen our fathers shouting and waving their arms in the air.
We have watched from a distance and hidden from the news.
Allel Nedjari and Amit Lahav grew up on opposite sides of the Arab-Israeli divide. Here they celebrate their brotherhood and laugh and cry at their reflections. The Arab and The Jew is both a riot of sound, image and movement and an ambitious dance of reason and conciliation.
A Gecko production co-commissioned by Drum Theatre Plymouth, Lyric Hammersmith, New Wolsey Theatre and Tobacco Factory. Supported by Corn Exchange Newbury, Cambridge Junction, South Hill Park and Warwick Arts Centre. Arts Council England and Lottery funded.
