Part of Streamdoor: theatre you can watch from home

“Immersing viewers in a rich environment of dance, music and visuals, 8 Minutes carries you on a breath-taking journey through the universe, revealing the beauty and drama of the star that gives us life.”

Overview

8 Minutes is available to watch on the Sadler's Wells Facebook page from Friday 8 May - at 7.30pm BST. It will be made available to view for seven days on Facebook and YouTube.

It takes just eight minutes for sunlight to travel 93 million miles to Earth. In this unique collaboration with scientists from STFC RAL Space, choreographer Alexander Whitley takes inspiration from solar science research and its stunning imagery to illuminate our relationship with the sun.

This critically acclaimed production, which premiered at Sadler’s Wells in 2017, features a specially created score by the electroacoustic music innovator Daniel Wohl and a backdrop of captivating imagery from BAFTA award-winning visual artist Tal Rosner.
