An online festival featuring work addressing mental health, race, the environment and isolation begins this week. Offering a range of shows, from plays for children—including the much admired comedy eco adventure One Duck Down from FacePlant Theatre—to On Demand by Natasha’s Project, a dance/physical theatre piece looking at the impact of modern day slavery. Look out for a staged production of Penelope Skinner’s Meek which has more than a touch of The Handmaid’s Tale about it. I also like the sound of Out of the Blue’s Imaginarium, an immersive audio experience in which the audience follows instructions that makes you look differently at your bedroom’s four walls.

About Dazed New World Festival

Dazed New World highlights social injustice, inequality and issues of environmental concern, as well as looking at positive future narratives in our world as we evolve post Covid. The festival has something for everyone, from an eco-friendly family frolic, a look at mental health through the eyes of a clown, calls to action against those that threaten and abuse our identity, and of course the biggest question of them all, should the Phantom of the Opera be performed on roller skates?
