LIVE and ONLINE - Thinking outside the boxset… Graeae’s accessible scratch night is back! Join us online for an hour of LIVE entertainment from 8pm on Tuesday, 20 April. We asked five Deaf and disabled writers for short plays responding to a randomly assigned TV genre. And we can’t wait to share what they’ve come up with! We're delighted to announce that the evening will be hosted by star of stage and screen Sharon D. Clarke (most recently seen in The Gift for Crips without Constraints) alongside playwright Leanna Benjamin (writer of The Gift), with work presented from some of the finest writing talent from across the UK: Amy Bethan Evans, Adam Fenton, Kathryn Golding 金頁, Kate Lovell and Nicole Joseph. Cast members will be announced soon. So put your chips in the oven and let Netflix ask if you’re still watching. Our take on the boxset brings you everything from sci-fi to period drama, performed LIVE and script-in-hand by some of the UK’s finest Deaf and disabled actors. The first Crips with Chips took place in person at our award-winning Bradbury Studios in February 2020. This time we’re bringing it to YOU. The evening will be audio described, sign-language interpreted and captioned.
