On the same day, in the same city, First World War veteran Septimus Warren Smith seeks help from the ruling class that Clarissa entertains.

Forward Arena present a fast-paced, dynamic staging of Virginia Woolf‘s classic tale, in a bold new version by Hal Coase (Callisto: a queer epic).

Critic reviews

Sporadically bold take on Virginia Woolf’s landmark novel

Time Out

The cast give a spirited performance

Theatre Weekly

Their multiple voices and personas create a confused cacophony rather than a polyphonic orchestra of inner and outer worlds

The Guardian

The tiny cast is near-impeccable...Emma D’Arcy is a powerhouse in several roles

Exeunt

Arresting, if sometimes hectic, adaptation of Virginia Woolf's circadian novel
