Heart of a Dog

Heart of a Dog

Arcola Theatre · 09 FEB - 11 FEB

“I am a gentleman’s dog, an intellectual creature, I’ve tasted a better life.”

Overview

When a distinguished Moscow professor implants the sexual organs of a man into the body of a stray dog, he unleashes a living nightmare on the city…

Heart of a Dog is a biting, wildly inventive comedy by Mikhaíl Bulgakov, author of The Master and Margarita. A dazzling satire on the Bolsheviks’ attempt to create a ‘New Man’, it was censored and confiscated by the secret police in the years after the Russian Revolution.
