Brought to life by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, this irresistible new hit features original music and lyrics by 6-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles

“This Broadway transfer caused such a sensation in New York. It's also exciting because it's the first time a West End musical has had an entirely female creative team (about bloody time!) including music and lyrics from six-time Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles. It's great fun with some brilliantly catchy tunes.”

Waitress tells the story of Jenna, an expert pie maker in a small town, who dreams of a way out of her loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a new life, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes to happiness. But Jenna must find the courage and strength within herself to rebuild her life. This American musical celebrates friendship, motherhood, and the magic of a well-made pie.

You can buy the recipe book and sample pies in the foyer, but even without them it leaves a pleasantly sweet taste in the mouth

This pie-tastic Broadway smash is big hearted but half-baked

Time Out

This is a small show with a big heart; it may have been better served by a more intimate house than the Adelphi for its London debut, but I loved it

Take one waitress, add two dozen catchy songs, a pinch of female empowerment, and a lot of love: bake to perfection

The Stage

A satisfying mix of whimsy, warmth and sadness

Bouncy tunes and a strong narrative propel this musical set in a diner
